Incidents

We are tasked by the emergency services, including HM Coastguaard, Fire & Rescue, Police and the Ambulance Services. Our teams are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Below are the callouts that we have attended.

• Over, Gloucester. 23-05-2019

  Sharpness teams received an immediate tasking at 2018hrs from the Coastguard to assist with a person at risk at Over Bridge. Whilst en route, the person was secured by the police and our teams were stood down.

• Gloucester, 19-05-2019

  At 02:30 Sharpness crew received an immediate tasking from the coastguard to a person in the water at Gloucester. Crews attended scene and the individual was taken into police custody. Crews were stood down at 03:16

• Cirencester, 11 May 2019

  Land and Swiftwater rescue teams were called out at 2142 by Gloucestershire Constabulary to help in the search for a Missing Person In the Cirencester area. Shortly after the crews arrived at the Rendezvous point, the missing person was located by the police and is currently receiving the appropriate care.
  Our teams were then stood down at 2338

• Lower Rea, Gloucester 09-05-2019

  At 1549hr SARA Sharpness crews received an immediate launch request to assist with a young woman who had entered the water. S15 was launched at Lower Rea at 1615hrs followed closely by S12. Both boats proceeded up river to the casualties last known location.
  Upon locating the casualty, S15 then assisted Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to recover the hypothermic young female from the water and to the awaiting ambulance.

  Both assets stood down at 1715hrs and are now back on station ready for service. A great result from our fantastic crew!

  Called by milford haven to report of white object in river Wye, top army camp slipway. Launched SARA lifeboat 1 and located item. Sent mobile 10 to assist with winching…

  Called by Gwent Police to reports of drifting upturned vessel, SARA Lifeboat 1 launched, searched area, nothing found. Stood down.

  Land Search Teams from Beachley and Tewkesbury were called out this afternoon, to support Gloucestershre Police with a missing person search in the Cannop Ponds area of the Forest of Dean.
